Arkansas Highway Commission approves bid for improvements in Crittenden County
Half- million in paving approved for rural roads
ralphhardin@gmail.com Danny Straessle with the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department has reported that the Arkansas State Highway Commission recently approved a bid for improvements to a pair of roadways in western Crittenden County.
“The purpose of this project is to resurface 3.5 miles of County Road 6 and County Road 17, near Earle,” said Straessle. “APAC-Tennessee, Inc. of Memphis, Tennessee, was awarded the contract at $534,347.03.” Straessle said construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting, with completion of the project expected in within four to six weeks, by mid-2016.
Straessele also cautioned holiday and summer travelers to stay on top of upto- date travel information on Arkansas highways.
