A total of 150 attended the Earle High School class reunion held at the home of Eddie Winders in Calico Rock recently.
They were from Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas and Missouri.
The oldest class attending was from the year 1962.
Entertainment was provided by bands including “Sara Jo Roak and the Lockhouse Orchestra,” “T-Roy” and “The Leatherwoods.”
On Friday evening the group enjoyed a weiner roast and theme for Saturday included barbecue, fish and sides.
Among those attending from Earle were Linda Jo Branch, Terre and Bobby Rodgers, Debbie and Galen Maxwell and Danny Lunsford.
*** The Red Hat Museum Muses met at Crossroads Cafe in West Memphis May 21.
The tables were covered with red and purple cloths decorated with red hat memorabilia and ceramic items. Favors were gift bags.
Co-hosts were Janis Lancaster and Sue Ann Elms of Earle.
Jean Burns of West Memphis and Vickey Wells of Earle celebrated birthdays May 9 and were serenaded with the kazoos, the club instrument.
Others present were Minnie McCain and Chris Jones of Parkin, Gayle Berry, Christine Littlejohn, Ann Pickering- Philyaw and Ellen Holloway of Earle, Mary Frances Davis, Ann Rogers and Clara Miller, Queen Mom, of Marion.
*** The 39ers had dinner at Catfish Island in Caldwell May 26.
Included were Janis Lancaster, Ken Lancaster, Frankie Swindle, Tanya Pate, Doug Manchester, Kay and Rev. Bill Watt, Vicky and Rev. Tony Wells, chairman of the Earle Baptist Church group. *** The children of the First Assembly of God Church enjoyed a trip to the zoo in Memphis May 21.
Included were Adalynn Lennox, Olivia Burton, Samantha Miner, Bella Newingham, Emma and Olivia Watson, Cassandra Soto, Elijah Smith, Nick Partain, Symphony and Harmony Van Brussel.
Adult chaperones were Tammy and Amy Soto, Michelle Dover, Terry Nieswonger and Alicia Martinez.
*** Doug Manchester, Edmon Davis, Bill Rogers and Rev. Tony Wells were recognized in a special Memorial Day service at the Earle Baptist Church May 29. They each served in the armed forces.
Those attending recited pledges to the Bible, American Flag and Christian Flag. Rev. Wells led the congregation in singing patriotic songs, sang “My Country ‘tis of Thee” as a solo and preached the Memorial Day sermon.
