AWM graduate receives UCA Honors College nod
Williams headed to Conway in the fall
WM School District The Norbert O. Scheduler Honors College at the University of Central Arkansas has announced Academies of West Memphis senior Alexandria Williams has been accepted as a member of the incoming Fall 2016 class of Honors Scholars.
The award is made to 75 high school students from Arkansas and elsewhere.
Members of the incoming class are selected using the most thorough honors admissions process in the nation. This year had the largest applicant pool in the history of the scholarship with 136 full-day interviews on the UCA campus.
Williams is the daughter of Amanda Williams and Lawrence Wade. The AWM honor grad owns a GPA of 4.18.
She is a member of the National Beta Club, Mu Alpha Theta, FBLA, AP Club, AWM marching and symphonic band, Crittenden County Community Band, Memphis Youth Symphony program and Opera Memphis volunteer.
Acceptance into the Scheduler's Honors College comes with UCA's most prestigious scholarship package worth over $55,000 over four years, access to a living-learning community in Jefferson W.
Farris Honors Hall and participation in a unique interdisciplinary curriculum with ample opportunities for service learning, project- based education, collaborative work, undergraduate research and travel or internship support.
