MCOC set for ‘Small Fry Triathlon’

Kids can run, bike, swim at Brunetti Field June 4

That’s the date for the first ever Marion Chamber of Commerce “Small Fry Triathlon,” a great event for youngsters at Brunetti Park in Marion. Like a traditional triathlon, the inaugural Small Fry edition will test these youngsters’ ability in three different disciplines. They will run a 25-yard dash, bike/trike/big-wheel or scooter for 50 yards and finish up with a 10-yard “swim” through a water sprayer.

The triathlon will be from 9 a.m. until noon. Racers will be grouped by age, with races starting every 10 minutes. Every child will receive a racing bib and a gold medal. Registration is $20 before May 27, $25 after May 27, and early registerers will receive a Tshirt. There is a $5 perchild discount for families of three or more kids.
