Scarbrough boys win fishing tournament

Outdoors Columnist The Arkansas Highway Police sponsored their annual Make AWish fishing tournament this year at Horseshoe Lake. The launch and weigh in occurred at the Surf Club. This is the 22nd year for the tournament and will be here again next year. The money raised will go to the Make AWish Foundation.

Dewayne Scarbrough and Cory Scarbrough beat out 20 other teams to take the $1000 guaranteed first place. They caught about 30 bass and culled them down to the five fish limit.

They won with 18.85 pounds with the largest bass being slightly over five pounds. The 2nd and 3rd place teams also received a pay out. A thousand bucks is not bad for a few hours fishing! Next year the numbers of entries should increase.
