Shrimp Boil at Christ Outreach

Get your Cajun cuisine June 11 at annual fundraiser

Fans of the 1994 hit “Forrest Gump,” no doubt remember the lovable Bubba Blue’s classic declaration that “shrimp is the fruit of the sea.”

Like Bubba says, “You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sauté it. There’s, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp Creole, shrimp gumbo.

Pan-fried, deep-fried, stirfried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich… that… that's about it.”

Well, back up to the beginning of that list and you get boiled shrimp. And that’s what you can expect at the fourth annual Christ Outreach Church “all-you-caneat” Shrimp Boil. The shrimp boil will be Saturday, June 11, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the church, 1015 Balfour Rd., in West Memphis.

While dine-in or carry-out is available, tickets will be sold in advance only. The deadline is May 28, and tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12-andunder. With an invitation like “Bring your appetite and put some Cajun on!”

there’s sure to be a big turnout.

For tickets, call (870) 6366153 or (870) 514-9877.
