Who doesn’t love to sit outside and enjoy the lawn and garden? The Crittenden County Master Gardeners’ annual plant sale came just in time for Mother’s Day gifting and for visitors to pick up a few items to spruce up their summer lawns. The sale also cultivated scholarships for local seniors just in time for graduation.
The court house pavilion was filled with a variety annuals, perennials and bedding plants as well as garden accessories, including bird feeders, birdbaths, container plantings and Adirondack style chairs.
“Each year, we give scholarships to Crittenden County students pursuing or planning to pursue a degree in any field relating to agriculture or horticulture,” said Master Gardner Melinda Akins. “In 2015 we awarded $3,000 to five recipients. This year we will be awarding $6,500 to six deserving students.”
