ASU Mid- South- based classes offer employment training

news@theeveningtimes.com

Who hasn’t wished for better people skills from the employees at the places you do business? What employer wouldn’t want to improve employee turn over rates among more highly trained workers?

The Crittenden County Literacy Council based at ASU-Mid South will offer a course to develop interaction abilities that employers and customers are looking for in a business setting.

Literacy Council Coordinator Thomas Schlauch said he holds the ticket to a work skills class that is just the ticket that both employees and employers may want to add to their training and development resume.

“We offer a class on work readiness skills,” said Schlauch. “We are trying to get businesses to partner with us to offer training services for new employees. We’ll discuss with the employer about their employees needs.”

Business managers are looking for smooth transactions and courteous interactions from their staff. The offerings may be customized.

“One of the big things we hear about is soft skills,” said Schlauch. “Learning how to present themselves in front of the employer and communicate effectively may build a stronger and longer lasting working relationship. We can train for some basic on the job etiquette.”

Businesses or individuals looking to smooth out the soft skills may contact Thomas Schlauch at the Literacy Council of Crittenden County, 2000 West Broadway in West Memphis on the north campus, call (870) 733-6834, or email tschlauch@midsouthcc. edu .
