Position changes story of the day
UA Media Relations FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Nearly three months removed from a 45-23 victory in the 2016 AutoZone Liberty Bowl over Kansas State, the Arkansas football team returned to the field for the first of 15 spring practices Tuesday at the Fred W. Smith Center outdoor practice fields.
The Razorbacks went through 24 periods without pads.
Tuesday’s practice saw several debuts as offensive line coach Kurt Anderson, running backs coach Reggie Mitchell and defensive backs coach Paul Rhoads went through their first practice as Razorbacks.
A notable position move this spring is sophomore Hjalte Froholdt going from defensive line to offensive line. The Razorbacks are seeking to replace three starters on the offensive line, including at center where Frank Ragnow got first-team reps today.
Former Razorbacks Hunter Henry, Sebastian Tretola, Jonathan Williams along with #ProHogs Chris Gragg and Cobi Hamilton were in attendance.
Several players donned new numbers for the first time, highlighted by senior wide receiver Dominique Reed wearing No. 3, Froholdt changing to No.
51, sophomore defensive back Ryan Pulley switching to No. 1 and junior running back Denzel Evans at No. 34.
The Razorbacks return to practice Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Fred W. Smith Center outdoor practice fields.
