The Earle Lady Bulldogs won their 11th consecutive game, as well as their first state tournament game since the 1990’s yesterday by beating Mountain Pine 64-35.
Earle got 25 points and eight rebounds from freshman guard RoShala Scott, 14 points and 11 rebounds from senior forward Takila Baker and eight points and five assists from Andrea Allen.
‘Good all-around game,’ said Earle head coach Corey Garrett. ‘Our team defense was excellent. We held them to 14 points in the first half and played with a lot of energy. We were really aggressive attacking the basket on offense, and aggressive on defense without fouling.’
Earle will now play the winner of the Foreman-Conway Christian contest on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Marmaduke. That game will be a state quarterfinal contest.
Earle has not lost since an early February defeat to Marmaduke in Earle, something that isn’t lost on Garrett.
‘I’m really proud of how we’re playing as a team,’ said the third-year head coach. ‘Everybody is playing hard and doesn’t want to let the team down.’
